Boat ramp traffic way down and fewer boats on the water?

The weather has not been very nice this spring so the activity on the water is down for now. But it looks like we might finally be at comfortable temps from this point on and it will be interesting to see how quick it picks up. A lot of the locals like to get their docks/boats in by Memorial...

    Trailer wheels worth upsizing?

There are several different 5 lug bolt patterns so you would just need to make sure you get the correct wheels for your hubs. 5 on 4.5", 5 on 4.75" and 5 on 5" I think are the options.

    Trailer wheels worth upsizing?

Going from a 12" wheel/tire to a 13" wheel/tire doesn't always mean it's taller, you have to look at the actual tire size. But a taller tire will reduce rpm's and heat on the wheel bearings and give you some extra ground clearance. The downside is the boat might need to be backed into the...

Help with trailer and winch setup

I don't think it matters if you use the roller or Y stop, my roller doesn't really roll, it just cushions/centers the boat like the Y would do.

Help with trailer and winch setup

That' a steep angle on the post for the bow eye but the bow eye is also mounted pretty high on the boat. I be the pulley was a later add on. Is it adjustable at all, it doesn't look like it? My trailer has a flatter angle and the height is adjustable so the strap goes under the roller/eye and...

Boat ramp traffic way down and fewer boats on the water?

The weather wasn't as nice in April this year so I was 2 weeks later putting my dock in the river (we also had a lot of rain and the river was high and loaded with debris). I was still the first one in on the NJ side of the river in our area and I've been out 8-10 times now and caught a couple...

    Aluminum Console?

There are kits out there for a bare bones side console. This one looks like it's .090 thickness...

    Earthquake

I just saw an update that said we've had 43+ aftershocks but most were under 2.0 so you wouldn't feel it. I know the 4.0 I heard/felt was only 3-5 seconds and I bet I wouldn't have noticed in the house or a business or car so I'm sure the lower ones I had no idea happened.

    Post Eclipse Season Start

Today was nice, I got the boat out for the first time this year and now we get more rain. I did float the dock at my cousin's house on the river but I didn't install the walkways yet just in case the river goes back up.

    Earthquake

I live very close to Trenton/Mercer airport and we're used to the jets rumbling us all the time. I was sitting at the computer when it started to rumble and didn't think it was a plane or truck so I went outside and you could tell it wasn't anything normal. I poked my head back inside and you...

    Tracker trailer VIN location?

On my Loadrite trailer I think it's just a printed sticker which can no longer be read so yours might be the same.

Watch Out for those Little F'ers!

I pulled a couple of ticks out of me last summer. I think I got the first one in less than 12 hours since it wasn't attached that well and the other was less than 24 hours. As far as I know, I didn't end up getting anything, no rash or any side affects. I've has skin moles and small blood...

    Fuel water separtor

I run a 94 Mercury 60/45 2 stroke jet and went with the small Yamaha separator a few years ago. I changed filters at the beginning of last season but saw no sign of any water from the filter contents I poured into a jar.

    A guy’s I hope this isn’t bad news

I don't think I've ever kept my feet dry when trailering the boat, even in Feb when the water temp was still in the 30's. I figure I'll probably hurt myself trying to stay dry so I just use my water shoes to unload/ load the boat, no big deal. I've never driven a boat onto a trailer in 33...

Frozen or Stiff Steering? How to clean an outboard steering tube

And as a preventive step, when your boat is sitting, turn the wheel so the rod is pulled all the way into the tube on the engine bracket. That way, no grease will sit exposed to the elements and dry out faster.

    A guy’s I hope this isn’t bad news

Here are some pictures of the creases on my boat, they are basically where all the crossmember/ribs are. I just noticed that the sides of the boat also have the marks where the crossmember/ribs are so it's probably related to the construction or welding.

    A guy’s I hope this isn’t bad news

I converted my trailer from rollers to bunks and the boat sits quite a bit lower (fits between the fenders) so it's easier to load/unload. But the back it usually in the water far enough that I've never needed a keel roller. I should probably get one, but my boat stays in the water all season...

    A guy’s I hope this isn’t bad news

I'm pretty sure my boat has a similar crease to it and mine is all welded, no rivets. It's raining too much right now to go take a look so I'll check it tomorrow.

Optimal jet boat for the fishing I want to do

Have you looked at the SeaArk 1872 boats? Nice and wide and with the jet tunnel they can run pretty shallow. I saw this one for sale in PA on FB Marketplace and it even has pods already...

Routing starter cables to reloacted battery advise please.

My boat stays in the water from Apr through almost Nov and I've been running a single battery for years without issues (other than when my stator went bad and killed the battery). My biggest worry is the bilge pump, I don't have a trolling motor or fish finder and I rarely use the lights since...
