Late 80s 20 hp Johnson

Only the serial number of the motor, no model number.

how much are the carbs worth from a '91 johnson 20 hp and a '77 johnson 25 hp?
Should I sell the lower ends as well?
How bout the fuel pumps, are they worth anything?

Late 80s 20 hp Johnson

I have done a lot of research, and the earliest I believe it to be is a 91. Running parts numbers through boats.net gave me this info, and when I talked to a really experienced outboard mechanic he confirmed it to be a 91. Who knows for sure though, there is no plate with the model number. That bein...

Late 80s 20 hp Johnson

I talked to the guy on the phone, he said he is a mechanic. I'm not positive if he's a real mechanic, or if he's just "mechanically inclined". Not sure. I'll find out though.

Here's the ad if anyone would like to see: http://southcoast.craigslist.org/boa/3015086131.html

"Too many projects, not enough time". If there is no spark should I still look into it? Also I've never worked with a primer. Is it any harder than using a choke?

Late 80s 20 hp Johnson

Hi guys! haven't posted here in a long time. I recently finished my boat and now I'm in the process of buying a motor, but first I'd like your opinions on things. My boat is a 14 foot Feathercraft, and I have a line on a late 80s Johnson. It doesn't currently run (to my knowledge). The guy selling i...

1974 6 hp Johnson

Hi guys, long time no see. Been busy working on the boat, at work, school, etc etc... Anyway, my motor was on my boat for the maiden voyage, but it didn't start and run like it did in the tank. I brought it back to the dock and checked the spark plugs, checked the gas line and carb, and everything s...

Then I will just do 6 feet then, because I do agree that I need more room between the post and the hitch. Plus, it'll be possible to open the tailgate of our truck. Sound good? Will the added length aggravate the tilting feature?

So, extend the tongue up about 3 feet. Then fix the bunks appropriately.

Thanks for the help

Nothing will ever compare to that era of muscle cars.

So extend the bunks to be flush with the transom. Because it's galvanized, would extending the tongue be more money? I'm just thinking about the welding. How far up does the boat have to be moved?
