SmallieBigs 12' Sea King Project

I took the OB off after the test run last weekend and the wood on both sides of the transom was in bad shape, a fresh coat of paint can make garbage look good I guess. Oh well $200 for a boat and trailer I figured I'd be doing some work. I tore out the transom and found some carpenter ants living in...

Ban on Lead Bullets and using lead in weights / lures ?

I believe in global warming, it happened between the two Ice Ages. Let's get real about the hype of global warming. Its a natural cycle. Useing it to promote a politica agenda is foolish, as in only the foolish will buy into it. Please explain how CO2 levels are at the all time highest si...

Bassboy1 those are not scientific studies. The first link you put up there is basically opinionated garbage. Please do yourself a favor and look up ice core studies, actual studies and not biased opinion pieces. They clearly show that CO2 levels and temperature are directly correlated AND they are a...

I not going to say that were not helping to warm up the planet....because I think we are and I also agree that the planet has it's own heating up and freezing years.... but when scientist start talking about CO2 levels 400000 years ago,I listen with alittle scepticism.Next there will be another the...

Ban on Lead Bullets and using lead in weights / lures ?

We may have just turned this political, and get this thread pulled, but I'm going to answer anyway. Global warming, by definition, does exist. The problem is that the accepted meaning of global warming is actually "manmade global warming." The former does exist, the latter, not so much. While it ha...

Lead is toxic so why wouldn't a responsible outdoorsman want to find an alternative that is not toxic to people and animals? Conspiracy theories about the government doing this to unarm citizens??? Really???? I really hope you're not serious about this one because it's borderline certifiably insane....

SmallieBigs 12' Sea King Project

HAHA Flying boat! I was in my uncles truck with him when I was about ten and we got passed by his boat going down a hill. Smashed up the bumper pretty good getting it to stop but didn't hurt the boat at all. I think he decided to use safety chains after that.... Yeah you're right it is tippy...

Here's some more info. It's a photo of the Sears 12' Tag. http://forums.iboats.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=60488&d=1279551750 I wonder if that's the same boat I have. It seems like it should be rated for more than 488lbs? Me and my son are about 300lbs together, 48 lbs of gas, 35 lbs battery, 3...

Either way you got a great deal on that 14' Starcraft, it looks like it's in great shape and ready for some mods! It will definitely feel more stable than the 1436. I just test drove my smaller 12' semi V with it's new to me 20hp OB and it's more stable than my friends 1436 and only a little bit wid...

SmallieBigs 12' Sea King Project

Thanks for the reply thudpucker. I'm not sure what the rating of the boat is, but I was assuming that it's probably not more than 10 hp. It wouldn't be a problem to beef up the transom and add some more support. I was thinking of putting the gas tank and/or the battery for the trolling motor up fron...
