Hi guys, just as the subject title says i have recently gotten a 1965 lone star commander passed down to me from my dad. Does any one know any thing about these? It has a 9.5 hp evinrude out board, im looking to strip the old paint off and completely reseal and paint the boat to its original state. Only problem is i have not been able to fins any pics online of these boats and even less info about them. What is the best way to go about stripping the old paint?? Should i use glovit inside and out to reseal it? What primer and paint should i use? And if any one had any info about these boats please share! Thanks ahead of time guys, lookong forward to some suggestions and answers!

Definatly recognize that old omc. Good running engines. The problem is keeping water out of the lower units and also impeller changes can be challenging if you pull the drink tube down with the lower unit. Notorious for coming unhooked under the power head.
