Hey guys new member here. This site is what made me get a jon boat lol. Im restoring a 14 footer, dont know the manufacturer or the year. No plate anywhere on boat. Would like to find out what it is and its capacity. I did take her out with all the mods and she handled really good, obviously not wide enough to stand and fish but thats what the seats are for. She also floats high off the water which is a good thing weight was my main concern. I think i added 150 lbs in stuff, including wood, batt, and trolling motor. So me and my girl should have no problem. I still have a few more things to do like paint the inside and do something about the transom space area. maybe make it flush to the bench seat. I did get my ideas from other members so thanks alot guys. Will post pics when fishing, weather is not the best in washington lol. By the way this site kicks @$$!

Welcome to the site ! you will find alot of nice members willing to help out on any ? you may have. I have a 1432 also and i just finished with my mods . like you i wish it was wider but it still brings in the fish. I made storage in the middle seat and also have storage under front deck and rear deck . i have a 9.8 Mercury that seems to push real good .

Nice looking rig you got there. How does your boat handle with two people and that 9.9 merc? weight wise? I might still cut some storage room on the middle bench. How did you do it? Drill and jig saw? Thanks for the help

thanks , i used a jig saw . it seems to handle ok with the 9.8 . here are some pics to maybe give ya an idea how i did it

I still had to cut the inside tabs of carpet . I also installed a light . I hope this helps . I also made the front of the front deck a latch for storage .I didnt like the latch opening the previous owner had on the top of the deck that you can see in the picture . I used hinges the same way and to hold it closed i used hidden cabinet door latches from ACE hardware ( $1.49) . they seem to hold door up pretty good . I dont have no pics of it to show you .it works and the person in the front seat is still able to fold the door down and get stuff out of it . good luck and hope this helps .. keep us posted
