Cool boat! If you want to remove the top cap of the boat it should be fairly simple. I cant really tell but along the top of the gunnel their should either be rivets ( drill them out ) or bolts ( simply unbolt them ). It looks like it's one piece and the fins are apart of that stamped section of the hull it's self. Me personally the boat is a classic and the boats with fins are not all that common, I wouldn't tear it all apart. It seems that you got most of it there. The windshield is cracked :( but there are aftermarket sources for one. It either looks like a Traveler boat or a Cadillac boat to me. Look on the transom to see if their are any tags/badges tacked into it. I've seen these old runabouts bring close to 3 thousand when restored. The boats with fins are the most desirable. Check out Fiberglassics classic boat library they have huge archives from a lot of older boat manufactures. Good luck with it I'm sure it will be cool no matter what you do to it.

jbm5646,

PLEASE do NOT cut up that 1957-8 CADILLAC DOLPHIN runabout, as they are HARD to find.
(We "tin boat restorers" will come back haunt you, when we "assume room temperature", if you do.)

Fwiw, just yesterday afternoon, I bought a 1956 Dolphin 14 to restore & power with a 30HP 1956 Johnnyrude.
(You can buy a NICE modern tin boat for what you can sell it for.)

yours, satx

Good choice, that is a a very nice looking boat. It will look even better when you get it restored.
.

I saw a similar '50s era boat awhile back, but unfortunately I let it get away. Those fins are awesome.
