Almost ready to start my boat project.

I have read about using vinegar and water to etch the aluminum before paint. Any one care to comment about the mix ratio?

I have also read about using TSP. Again, anyone care to comment?

Vinegar and water 50/50 will clean the aluminum. Rinse with clear water afterwards.

Etching primer is what is used and will fill in any small irregularities. Then base coat/clear coat. All can be found at your local paint & body supply store. Jones Blair; Sherwin Williams; PPG; DuPont.

Be sure to follow the steps and directions so that your project lasts for years to come. Prep is the key to a great paint job!

Good luck!
