Myself and my 2 brothers along with a good friend spent the last 4 weekends throwing together my dads old bass tracker II so we could get it ready for a family reunion coming up this weekend.

My dad pasted away in October before he could get his boat back on the water. So we decided to throw it together so my dads brother and sister could enjoy it this weekend at our family reunion on the lake.

IT's not a complete restore, more of a Clean Up....
We still have some more work to do, like finish polishing, adding accessories, removing the OLD orange stripe and replace with blue ones.....that will all have to wait until after the reunion....but hey it's back on the water for now.

Oh yeah my dad was a HUGE Dallas Cowboys fan.

AWESOME job so far - - -
but, what about the MOTOR ???
when was it last serviced? who did it?
Age has a way of affecting all the things needed to make it go.
waterpump impeller and seals, carb and fuel lines, might be an issue

(Elderly people stranded on a lake in the hot sun is NOT good).
Fresh Gas !! Fresh Gas !! FRESH GAS !!!
you get it running and you test drive it before putting your aunts n uncles in it.

again, awesome job on the "cleanup".

We actually replaced the motor with a rebuild 40 Merc.
one of my cousins is going to take the old Johnson and rebuild it for his 18' john boat.

Yeah either myself or one of my brothers will be on the boat with my aunt and uncle.....

Too rich of gas to oil mixture, too rich gas to air mixture. Could also be old gas. Are you running E85 free gas?
