This is my first Jon boat. I purchased it out of Jacksonville via Craigslist for $750 for the hull and trailer with no motor. Fortunately I have a 1996 20hp outboard mariner from a zodiac that we used a handful of times. Ever since the motor has been garage kept.
Here are a few pictures of the boat, sorry I will have some more to post tomorrow.

The previous owner used it for flounder giggin, the 6 1/2' long front deck with stainless hinge is in great condition

Found a 25' piece of bamboo I cured with a torch to make a push pole

The first 2' section I used a heatgun at 1200 degrees, it took about 20 mins for that one section. I recommend not using the heatgun. Switching over to a handheld torch i completed each 2' section in about 5 mins. I have to say the finished cure of the bamboo looks amazing and best of all it was free! Now I just need to cut it down to an appropriate size and add some sort of grip and tip

So I am beginning the floor construction and have gone with a rubber mat, but need 1 1/2" insulation board. Apparently they only sell 1 1/2" in the north. I know I can always glue two 3/4" together, but I was trying to keep cost and work down. Anyone know where to get 1 1/2" board in Florida?

Well I just went with the 2" board and it came out nicely.

I also went on to complete the front flounder gigging lights.
