I just got back to Florida with my boat. It has been sitting up in Indiana for the last 17 years. This is my first project and after reading other posts on this forum I'm sure it will be easy. I will post some photos tomorrow.

Tonight is the start. here are some pics

welcome agentxman! i like the old smoker crafts. so what are your plans?

I just got my first boat, a 1985 14ft Smoker Craft. It looks very similar to yours. Is yours a 14ft? Im torn between keeping or removing the center bench. Either way I know I want flooring and a front deck. I'll be keeping a close eye on your progress.

Hello group My name is Kgibbs203 .I just started a Smoker 83 and heres my horrorrable pic ! I water checked it and found about 6 leaks ( most were from grinding off paint from last owner !!! Really solid boat...You can see the water hose filling it up... I`m starting to fix leaks in a cpl day ...

Sorry I haven't updated my post. I scraped the first flooring frame and I am now working with aluminum from a bunch of cubicles. The aluminum is very strong and light. I put my center seat back in and will use it as a dry storage. Hope to post some new pics here tomorrow.

well after 2 years not being able to work on the boat, I started to work on her again. after reading post after post on painting I felt that it was time to paint her. First I started sanding then I used a wire brush wheel around all the rivets, then more sanding. I used 3 coats of self etching primer and 3 coats of rustoleum metallic. Next project to her will be the inside.
