    Rivets leaking

Thanks for all of the recommendations. I do not have access to the inside deck as my boat is finished out with plywood, carpet, etc. I will probably try the 3M 5200 from the outside first, then if things don't improve I will pull the decking....

    Rivets leaking

Hey ya'll quick question. I have a 1978 MonArk, 16' all riveted. I bought her in Missouri, refitted her in Illinois, and run her on the Potomac River in Virginia. Originally when I repainted the boat I notice a couple of loose or missing rivets. Before painting, I used JB Weld on the spots...

Treated wood on aluminum = bad?

What about just some regular 4x4s and a sheet of 3/4 inch plywood? The support will be in contact with the deck and the hull, so am I good to go??

Treated wood on aluminum = bad?

I am working on a bracket under the decking for a bow mounted TM. As I was drafting plans, I remembered reading about a caution to not use a certain type of wood for projects with aluminum boats. Can anyone please clarify? What type of lumber am I safe to use?

How to correct my trolling motor mounting setup??

Hey fellas quick question == I recently purchased and mounted a new min kota trolling motor on my 16' MonArk. The troll has 55 lbs thrust, and I mounted her to my bow as indicated in the picture. What I did not account for is that when I crank the troll, the deck that I mounted her to would...

Hey guys thanks so much for all of your input on this wiring thing! I got her up and running with a 80 percent solution -- hit the water on Sunday for a trial run. Everything is pretty much good to go. I am amazed at how much there is to be learned by folks with different knowledge, and...

Extend power lead on trolling motor

Hey fellas - back with another question. The Minn Kota trolling motor that I have has leads coming off of it that are 8 gauge, and the wiring instructions say that to extend the power lead 6 gauge should be used. The issue I am having is that I am running my 6 gauge to the stern which is where...

    Waterproof toggle switches?

In the process of re wiring my boat I have a decision point regarding whether to use a waterproof switch panel or to just use toggle switches. As I already have a fuse panel with attached ground bus bar, I am inclined to just use toggles. The most suitable space is right of my steering wheel...

Basic photo tutorial for simple boat wiring

What's up gents... So I have created work for myself (again) in the wiring department of my old trusty War Pig. The wiring has been an ongoing battle since I first tore this old boat down and repainted and re decked it. That part I did very well, but what I did not do and now regret is to...

    Sealing a leaky livewell??

Thanks Earl. The light under the livewell in the dark is just the kind of solution I was looking for. What if I can't pinpoint it that way - any other ideas?

    Sealing a leaky livewell??

The live well under my seat does not hold water -- I believe there is an separation or gap in the aluminum somewhere, but not sure where. If it's a rivet, how can I seal it from the topside? Can I caulk it effectively? Is there a better way?
