1996 Bass Tracker TX 17 Build- Updated Progress Pics

Dave, I think it would. I would guess that the 5.5mm stuff should be just as soft as carpet in a bass boat. The 3mm stuff I have is really comfortable on bare feet. You could always shoot them an email and ask for a sample. It comes snail mail from California, so it takes about a week. -Eric

1996 Bass Tracker TX 17 Build- Updated Progress Pics

Thanks for the kind words guys. ________________ MrSimon, I will take a close up pic for you this weekend. My boat stays about 40 miles away from where I live and I don't have a piece of it with me right now. I used the 47" x 84" 3mm sheets. At the time, I got it as factory seconds. Some...

1996 Bass Tracker TX 17 Build- Updated Progress Pics

Thanks. I would love to get my hands on something a little larger. The boat is rated for 70. __________________ I have been working on the boat the past few weeks and got quite a bit done. I ended up ordering a Minn Kota Riptide SP Autopilot in 55lb trust. I originally wanted a 24V, but...

Well, it's hard to believe it has been so long since I last posted an update. I have been really busy at work and haven't had time to work on the boat until the last few weeks. I got most of the wiring done today. Thankfully, I took pictures of the wiring before I took everything out. It was...

Replacing Waterlogged Foam in 89 Bass Tracker Pro 17

kofkorn I have a boat very similar to yours. Mine is the 1996 TX 17 Tournament and has the livewell so our stern decks are a little different. In my hatches, there is a base plate that is bolted in with (4) SS screws in each corner. I was able to get to some of the rear foam from there. I...

1996 Bass Tracker TX 17 Build- Updated Progress Pics

Well, it's been a while since I updated this build. I've been really busy at work and haven't had too much time to get to the boat. Here we added some additional bracing. Here you can see the test fit of the main deck sheeting. The front area will be a separate panel held down by...

    MotorGuide Trolling motor wont work

Open up the top cover and find where the motor leads connect to the circuit board. You may have to make up some jumpers but you can direct wire the battery to the motor leads, bypassing the control circuit board altogether. If the motor works, you know it's the circuit board. Some Motorguide...

    tattle tale woes

The best service manuals are made by the manufacturer of the engine. Sometime you can find them on ebay for a decent price. I would say the Clymer manuals are next best. Seloc manuals are bottom on my list. You can pay and access the Seloc manuals online through there website. I have used...

Stabil, Seafoam, Ring Free, Oh my!

I am a huge believer in Seafoam. I've seen it work miracles with gummed up carbs and to decarbonize engines. I can't speak for what's best for your Yamaha, but Seafoam is a great product. Like Skidz, I use it in almost every tank for a preventative. We all have Ethanol horror stories and...

    tattle tale woes

First off, welcome to Tinboats.net! I'm not an outboard mechanic but will give it a stab. If you are pretty sure the upper passages are clear, you may have an impeller issue. Did you replace the impeller? Was the motor sitting up for a while? I have seen old impellers work initially and...

Deck/ Flooring Coverings: What's Your Experiences?

Thanks for the comments guys, keep 'em coming. The more I research, the more I keep going back to Hydro Turf. I emailed Kiwi Grip for more information. They recommended using an etching primer but really liked epoxy primer. The theory is to paint the Kiwi Grip on just after the epoxy primer...
