Just seen our first wake boat of the year quite certain its someone who lives on this stretch of river as I'm pretty far from the dam. Was the last thing I expected to see round the bend as it's only 5 ft deep this far up today and the water is up about 2ft from the rains over the weekend.
Welcome aboard...I lived outside San Antonio for a few years and fished Canyon Lake a bit. I would keep the 15hp even on a 1k acre lake if the fish aren't biting at the dam and you decide to head to the other end of the lake the 15 will get you there 4x+ faster and burn very little fuel doing it.
Nice boat! That's going to be a very nice rig once you get it all sorted. If it was stored properly it may not take much at all to get going. I would check to make sure bugs/vermin haven't made a nest in any small passages and see if she fires on fresh mix.
The jetski and pleasure boat crowd doesn't get going here untill memorial day. I have only seen 2 other boats all year both were fishing but I haven't gone on a weekend yet
Fresh coat of wax ...maybe now it will do 60 lol. In all seriousness it took me over an hr just to get the scum line off from our first couple trips this year with the high flood waters. Been waiting for a nice warm day to give it a coat nothing special just spray on wax but it will clean up a...
Stocking up on bait and making sure everything is ready to go once mother nature gets ahold of herself. Been getting less salamanders and more crayfish in our traps.
20mph is moving with a 9.9 in that boat. A tachometer would tell you if and how much you could potentially change prop pitch. You can play around with where you have the trim set to see if that helps the time to plane any.
NGK stk 5626....I get that when cross referencing ngk buhw2 along with many others from other manufact but in my opinion ngk is the best plug you can buy.
I suspect now that these are more common and more people are using them that outboard manufacturers will deal with that on their end pretty soon. I'd love to go all lifepo4 I could save another 100lbs.
I still wouldn't run one for cranking untill either my warranty is up or yamaha says they are OK. I think the biggest problem is charge profile from the alternator
I love riv nuts but they need to be snug when installed into the hole before squeezing. If your installing In really thin aluminum I could see them having limited strength. I used them for the t bars and other rod holders for catfish on my last several boats without fail. The drags are...
Looks like the perfect opportunity to install a jack plate. Others have nailed the performance issues from it mounted to low. If that transom measures 20" than perhaps the motor is a xl 25" shaft.
