My grizzly 1448 has a 17.5 transom and I put a 20hp Tohatsu 16" shaft on it [SS]. Im still trying to figure out trackers thinking on that 17.5 transom.. I had a mini jacker plate so I mounted the engine to that and put 2 2x3" aluminum rectangle plates as the mini jacker didn't go back far enough...
What kind of roller are you using? I did the roll and tip using Epiphanes mono urethane but skipped the tip part. I used a 4" foam roller. Keep the roller wet and overlap the coverage but don't go backward as it drys fast and you will leave lines. By the third coat I got the hang of it. I have...
Nice!
So its one step with pole. I notice your TM is not on. Is that a quick release puc? Is your TM in the way at all?
Hard to see in the pick, does it bolt on to the winch?
Thx for the pick.
After a bunch of trial and error my cav plate sits 1/2" above the bottom and 6" setback. Had to bring it back that far to clear the harness clamps and adj. screws. The 10" prop gives a better hole shot and the engine doesn't feel like its working as hard.
Cheers
Have you tried your 10 pitch yet? What 1448 do you have. Reason I ask is my 1448 has a 17.5 transom. 15" shaft is actually 16".Tohatsu 20 manual says to mount the cav plate 1/4"-1" below the bottom of transom. I was getting spray back till I made a jackplate and lowered the engine. With the...
Did your 10 pitch come with the engine. Factory new comes with the 11.5.
You were probably hitting the rev limiter. My engine feels like its not working as hard with my 10 pitch and if I leave wot sustained sometimes it shows 6150-6200 and I get the rev limiter. I just back off a little but I...
When I used the quick release 'center puck' on my last boat the box it came in had a template on the inside of the box. Im not sure if that's helpful. I had my wife hold the base and quick release while I deployed the TM to ck clearance, position etc. Never used the quick release. On my present...
