Man that is a weird set up they left you with... There is no way I would be spending more money trying to fix it as they are the ones that incorrectly assembled it.
Let us know how the jack pate works.
As in when not in use or while in use?
1. When not using the boat they stay in their locations on the boat but I hook up battery tenders to them which has allowed me to use the same batteries for over 3 years. I go out around 2-3 times a week so they get a lot of use and always recharge...
Thats great you are seeing the results you were looking for! I have been keeping up with your thread since the beginning so keep us updated if you change the prop also. It always seems like there is another thing to spend more money on when it comes to a boat lol.
With both trolling motors I have had they say in the manual to disconnect the trolling motors when charging. I simply just bought a quick disconnect that ends right at the battery.
I would imagine only having a 30-35hp on that boat would be more than enough if you ask me. I have a 25hp on a 14ft and it hauls.
Side note: A 100hp motor would be insane. Insanely fun that is.
Your story made me think of one of my own. - Went fishing with a buddy who I just met for the first time when I was 15-16 years old and he accidentally kicks an old rod/reel into the lake that meant a lot to him. Without hesitation he dives head first into the water after it. Mind you this is...
Had this problem in the rear bench seat when someone would sit on the pedestal. I made a small frame out of aluminum angle that fits under the seat base. It was a very minimal amount of foam taken out. The frame just basically made an "H" under the base to displace the weight across more of...
I could be wrong but everything I have read when it comes to research on using car tires on boat trailers is that you should never do that. I had the same idea but the way car tires are made to displace the load is completely different than trailer tires and while they may not wear as fast and...
I like the side rails, pretty cool.
I am stuck with thinking on adding a front seat to the front deck area, I see you have a similar mounting base that is sitting in my shop. Been trying to figure out how to mount it. How did you mount yours? did you add a plywood support under the front deck...
Awesome idea - I will keep that in the files. I only go in freshwater but I am going to be trying some flats fishing and did not know about bar keepers friend.
Luckily on the 2009 MV 1448 the middle bench is already storage so I wont have to remove any foam. I added foam under the floor boards and into the front deck slightly so if anything I have added foam to the boat.
My problem is the dang stern is way to heavy and is only decent with someone...
