Wanted: Throttle linkage off a 1980 Merc 40HP

I am looking for the throttle actuator cam linkage off a 79-81 Merc 2cyl. 40HP. It is the plastic piece that actuates the carb. If you have one please send me a pic so I can make sure it is the right one. Thanks! [email protected] Jerry

    1980 Bass Tracker III

Thanks guys for the compliments! As for sealing the wood I went CDX exterior grade ply wood with Thompson. I know there is a big debate about using it but I've done a few boats and the carpet has never outlasted the wood in any of my cases so it works for me. Harness.... Oh the harness, this...

    1980 Bass Tracker III

I actually thought about making custom harness for boat applications but I don't know what the market would bear because there is really no one who does it that I know of. I will say that wire, loom, shrink, connectors, junctions, breakers, bus bars, and fuse blocks will run me just shy of $170...

The Flats Tracker Project (1983 Bass Tracker) FINISHED

I would look very closely to the bow for cracks, and the first rib on the bottom of the boat from the left (drivers side). I a currently restoring a 80 BTIII and two problems I've found out is the bow is a week point for cracking. And on the BTIII they ran the trolling motor wiring under the...

    1980 Bass Tracker III

Well yet another slower than I expected week.... Tried cleaning the boat with some hydrochloric acid and still looks bad and really had no effect. On the other hand a little 3M Perfect-It Med. Polish and a med. wool pad on my buffer is working wonders. I gave up on the polishing for now to...

Ok, i have a trolling motor. Now What???

All DC motors are sole dependent on voltage for RPM's not frequency like AC. If the motor is designed for let's say 1000RPM and has the winding for 24v DC at that RPM and you feed 12v DC to it it will turn approx. half as fast (500RPM) you can never hurt one going down in voltage but going up...

    1980 Bass Tracker III

Been a slow week on the boat. I managed to replace all the bad rivets now and added some chrome plated bracing to the weak points in the boat. I also got the trailer done, carpeted bunks, foot pads, and well covers. Got the few welds that needed done, done and cut out the ply for the floor...

    Steelflex Payment?

Well I've decided to steelflex my boat while it's gutted. It does not leak currently but I am thinking it would be a preventative type of thing. At any rate it's Sunday and they are not open but I do have a question do they take credit cards over the phone or COD? I would rather not wait on...

    Battery Box pros?

WalleyMart has them for $9 for a group 29 battery.... Keeps the acid inside the box so no corrosion, all are vented through the wire ports, keeps that battery in place, and best of all cheap!

    1980 Bass Tracker III

Well got the trailer sprayed yesterday and did not come out like I hoped. The sub-straight (old paint) must of been a lacquer base paint because the urethane did not like it at all and cause some major "fish eye" but was able to cover it up with a few coats. I also installed my new lights...
