Some questions on finishing my 14' mod v mod

this was the tool i used to set the extra large rivets. quite a chest workout when popping 100+ holes but doable. I bought an air riveter (Campbell Hausfeld) for like $60 on Amazon before I started the build I'm currently working on. I'm over 100 rivets in and it's definitely worth every penny...

What Rating Winch Are You Guys Using

It's better to have to much winch than not enough. I just replaced the winch on the trailer for my 14' Polar Kraft with a 1500 lb. Way overkill but hopefully holds up better than the POS that was on my EZ Loader trailer from the factory. This is the one I bought...

    Roof valley aluminum?

I've started gathering everything I need to replace the wood in my boat this winter to reduce the weight as much as possible. I have a bunch of aluminum angle and picked up some 1.5" x 1/16" aluminum I beam (no idea what it's from) at the scrap yard today. That takes care of all the framing but...

How far is your seat from the transom?

Those of you with tiller motors how far is your seat from the transom and are you happy with it? I recently came across a really good deal on aluminum angle so I decided to gut the boat this winter and redo everything with a focus on weight reduction and better layout/storage. My biggest issue...

what size trolling motor so you have?

I'm setup for electric only 55 Minn Kota Maxxus? rear and a 50 Minn Kota Powerdrive front. This is on a Polar Kraft Dakota 1470.

Need a reason to tie your boat down??? Watch this (4 mins)

And the only thing that holds that pawl in place is a flimsy little spring. The spring on the winch for my EZ Loader trailer broke after only a couple uses. My safety chain (shortened so there it's barely long enough to hook up) is always on because the winch strap never stays tight. I have a 2"...

Remove outboard and go full electric?

Primary reason for selling would be to pay for the trolling motor and batteries. A nice bow mount is pricey. I would like to go 24v which means at least 2 batteries also.

Remove outboard and go full electric?

Back in 2013 I bought a 2013 14' Polar Kraft Deep V to replace the kayak I was fishing out of. I liked the kayak but wanted to be able to go out on some of the bigger lakes. The first two years I fished the lakes quite a bit but last year with the weather, projects and the 2 lakes being over an...

    2007 Mercury 9.9hp 4 stroke

Biggest problem was the throttle sticking when the engine got warm. Couldn't figure out what was causing it. Talk about making your butthole pucker when you're headed for another boat, dock, or shore and the boat won't slow down. Had to kill the motor on several occasions.

    2007 Mercury 9.9hp 4 stroke

I bought a 2009 Mercury 9.9 4 stroke (Bigfoot model) with 10 hours on it in May 2013 for $1500. Absolutely hated that motor. Spent all summer trying to work the bugs out and finally gave up at the end of the year. Bought a different motor before it hit the water last year.

Trailer bunks and roller not staying in place?

The trailer is galvanized so I'd rather not try to weld on it. One 1/2" hole for each bracket is not going to hurt the strength of the trailer at all. The only reason the brackets are clamped instead of bolted from the factory is to allow for them to be easily moved around for different boats.

Trailer bunks and roller not staying in place?

I have a 2013 EZ Loader trailer and I put guides on and I made a few minor adjustments after I got the boat and trailer last year. The boat always went right on the trailer power loading or loading by hand on the electric reservoirs even loading by myself. Last couple times out the boat has been...

    Honda Outboard Issues

I thought I would give an update. I installed an SE 200 Hydrofoil and moved my trolling motor from the stern to the bow, no other changes. I went from struggling to hit 10 mph and not being able to plane to being able to cruise at 19-20 mph with a top speed of 21.

    Prop selection

from the research I've done trying to decide on a prop for my boat the difference between aluminum and stainless props on small hp motors isn't noticeable and not worth the extra money. A 15 hp motor isn't going to have even remotely enough power to make an aluminum prop flex.

    Abrahams 1648 Lowe Refresh Adventure

I use Photobucket. I didn't have a problem with my old phone but it seems no matter what I do to the pics taken on my current phone with a better camera it gives me an error when trying to post.
