    Durabak

Went with Durabak for a no skid surface. Very durable product. Pretty easy install. Ready to fish again!

    Alumacraft MV 1648 NCS

Durabak is done. Got some cleats and rod holders mounted as well. I'm going to mount one of my seats on the back bench and have 2 on the spider stands. All in all I like durabak. Very durable. Application wasn't bad at all.....prep work was the most difficult.

    Paint Prep

I just prepped my Alumacraft to apply Durabak to the inside. I started out with just water. I avoided any car wash soap to prevent any waxy build up. I then used 100 grit sand paper and used a mouse sander. After sanding I rinsed with water and dried. Then I used a no rinse TSP cleaner and...

    Durabak MV 1648 project

I just ordered 2 gallons of durabak. I have a new boat with no modifications. I've heard really good things about the product as long as the surface is prepped correctly. I plan to sand lightly, clean and apply xylene before applying. I'm not sure if a self etch primer will be needed for...

Clamp on bow and stern lights

I got a set from iboats just to be legal. Don't night fish too often. They serve the purpose and are cheap. They are not made to stay on all the time. I'm happy with my set.

    Storage

I'm aware. I plan on keeping foam around the outside of the storage. I also have some under my floor already. Thanks for the heads up though.

    Storage

I'm having trouble finding a good reference on cutting into my rear bench seat to create some storage hatches. Any good leads? I'm wanting to do the bench forward of my fuel tank and the 2 smaller onces on either side. Thanks.

    Alumacraft MV 1648 NCS

I've taken the boat out on a 7000 acre lake and the seats did great with my 1648 with the 20HP outboard. It also worked well on the casting deck when anchored.

    Outboard electrical question

Thanks. Remote as in key start from a console? It already is an electric/key start on the unit. Appreciate the info.

    Outboard electrical question

I have a 20hp Coleman that is wired to my battery but it also has a 3 prong cord coming out of it. What can this be used for?

    Clinton Lake - Lawrence, KS

Been on the water the last 2 days...my first times fishing this lake. Only fished for an hour today. Got one crappie jigging a GULP minnow anchored at 10 ft. I was close to the dam...no fish finder.

    Alumacraft MV 1648 NCS

The seats are not secured directly to the floor. Obviously I won't have one on the casting deck when moving. I'll have to try the others before deciding if I need to add permanent bases. Definitly going with textured floor and maybe just a few carpeted rubber backed mats. Has anyone added a...

    Alumacraft MV 1648 NCS

Thanks. It's a 20HP. I think the textured paint would be lighter than plywood and carpet. I agree with the fact that its cleaner as well.

    Alumacraft MV 1648 NCS

Just got my first boat! I got 3 spider seat stands with swivels. Nice seats mounted. I was hesitant to screw anything permanent in case I elect to modify it in the future. That being said has anyone here used those stands as their primary seat? The boat has a factory aluminum floor. Also...
