    first outing w/ 1994 evinrude 25hp-?'s- update

Been doing more research. My power pack is a CDI 113-4767.According to the installation guide "will not accelerate beyond 2500RPM and shakes violently." Causes- high temp, bad temp switch, or bad power pack. Amen on the shakes violently part. Mike

    first outing w/ 1994 evinrude 25hp-?'s- update

Pappy, there was a tan wire from the power pack. It connected to a temperature switch in the cylinder head cover. The service manual says to disconnect the bullet connector and remove the switch. Unfortunately the switch will not clear the head cover and I broke the wire. Switch on my order...

Pappy, there was water coming out of the the tell tale on the lower engine cover before and after the event. Can the thermostat cause over heating? I will check for the tan wire on the power pack tomorrow. Also will recheck the compression. I ordered a 10.5x11 prop today to replace the 11x9...

    1994 25hp Evinrude ?'s

Just purchased a 1994 25hp Evinrude E25RER this past Monday. The compression was 118# on both cylinders. Motor HP reccomendation

The 1968 brochure lists 40hp. I have read that HP was rated differently then. I know I don't need the max HP. Price is also an issue. Mike

    Motor HP reccomendation

I have a 1968 Rich Line Guides Choice with a 1972 Evinrude 9.5hp. The best I can run is 7.8mph (GPS). I would like to able to run about 20mph + or-max. The total load (sans motor) is about 860lbs--people & gear. Don't know if a 15hp would work or if I should look for a 25hp. HELP! Mike

    ID Help?

The 1969 brochure list a 40hp maximum for the Challenger and the Model15 which are almost the same boat. I personally would not use a motor that large. Mike

    ID Help?

Looks like a Rich Line to me. Measure the length(bow to transom), maximum beam width, transom width and depth and maximum gunnel to floor centerline depth. These should indicate the model. Mike

    Seats or No Seats?

My benches were a bit low and too hard. I also wanted to be able to shift weight. Here is what I did fore and aft. Swivel seats with slides. They work great. Mike

How did you mount your fishfinder?

I have the same boat as you. I also have a two person pond boat. I made my whole FF unit portable. I used the bracket and part of the shaft from a junk trolling motor. Here are a couple of pics. If you have any questions, just holler. Mike

I have been reading about the fuel problems. According to the old manual I have for this motor, I have to remove the flywheel to get to the carb. Anyone know what type of puller I need and where to purchase? Thanks, Mike

    97 Yamaha 3 HP

Took my boat out for the second time yesterday. The motor starts cold by the third pull and on the first pull when warm. In neutral it will rev up to full throttle, but when in gear beyond about half there is no increase. I know almost nada about outboards. Any input would be greatly...

    68 Richline 15 Refurb & Mod

Clint KY, It was made from an old trolling motor bracket and part of the shaft. The orange cap is just to keep rain water out. I needed something portable because we also have a 2 person pond boat. I used a wood dowel in the bottom of the shaft, coated with epoxy, to mount the aluminum channel...
