for a Sears (approx. 1968-69) 12' (11'5") Semi-V Hull.
The ones on the boat are bent up, dented and scarred and would like to replace them with new or near new caps.

I've seen in here where some folks have been able to upgrade their OB motors to the next higher HP. What I would like to find out is, that I have a Sears Gamefisher 3.5 HP (217.585230). Can this motor be upgraded to a 5 HP and if so, just what would I have to do and replace to make the upgrade...
This is my first post on TinBoats but have been reading a lot the last few nights, here. I recently bought a 12' aluminum V hull with an old Gamefisher 3.5 HP outboard. The boat it's self has absolutely no identifying marks, stamps, or tags other than inside the transom is a 5 digit number...
