Hey bud, great boat. I did a center console convert also. Check my profile for the build, it might give you some ideas for what you want to do. Best of luck with your project!!

    Project River Donkey complete....alumacraft 1542

Sweet build bud. I did the same thing by removing the middle bench seat. Be careful as removing the bench greatly reduces the structural integrity of the boat. Instead of wood I used 1/8" aluminum plate across the entire floor with rivits every 8 inches. It's a tank now, no flex in the removed...

    Let's play guess that boat!!!

What's the reason for such a high sheer? Just to chop the waves better? Is this a good type of boat? Are they typically expensive?

It's for sale! Just upgraded! $6500 and it's yours!!

The 1/8" plate will do the trick. I'm 280 lbs and there is very little flex. I stand on mine all the time. Just make sure you leave the foam in under the seat for support. If not, you should add 1 1/2" angle cross supports. So the seat frame doesn't sag over time.

Yes I did rivit to the existing front deck and removed the middle bench. I built the internal frame. The front seat is very sturdy as I added 1/8 plate across the entire front deck. The pictures give you the measurements you were looking for and how I ran the steering cable. I do plan to rerun...

q No problem, I welcome corrective criticism! The reason for wood is I have no welder and to have it fabricated in this town would cost me an arm and a leg. The braces for the transom hold the current 25 Mercury with ease, in fact I looking to upgrade to a 50hp Yamaha and add pods. Pods would...

Tracker Tournament TX-17 Duck Boat Build

    1st time build.... 1986 Alumacraft 1648

I agree with the wood comments. I made the same exact mistake. I recommend going to 1/8 Aluminum plate. It will never rust and last for the life of the boat. It will also reduce the weight significantly from using treated OSB. You will find out how top heavy and unbalanced the treated wood makes...
