    Filling old drill holes?

For interior holes, why not use JB Weld? I'm assuming they are small screw holes.

Is the motor height going to be an issue?

See rectangle in pic. It provides storage underneath and a place to stand when fishing. The main purpose was for trawling (shimping) to manage the trawl net. It was originally 23" longer and went around the engine. I had aluminum work done to reduce the size and weight, but it still provides...

Is the motor height going to be an issue?

I have them on my boat and think they work to plane faster and plane at lower speeds. However, I agree with the recommendations to distribute the weight first before trim tabs. At some point with smaller boats, you can only do so much weight redistribution. That was the case for my boat with...

No. It was all over the web because of her stupidity.

    Earthquake

The woman on the view said the earthquake and the eclipse and cicadas were caused by climate change. I can't believe people watch that garbage.

    Hello

Same for me. My boat was purchased by my Dad in 1986. I could afford something bigger, faster, nicer, but I won't do it even with its limitations. I enjoy working on it as much as I enjoy fishing out of it. Not very logical, but satisfying to the core.

    Hello

I'm not reading any desire for recovery from anyone, including myself. :giggle:

89 Evinrude 90 HP V4 hard starting issue?

I have a 1985 Evinrude 70hp, so not the exact same engine. I follow Pappy's instructions with one exception - I push the key in for about 3 seconds, then release and start the engine. Over the years I've discovered my engine seems to be prone to flooding if I push the key in too long. If I...

Quality 100AH Lithium LiFeP04 battery for less than $200

I'm guessing the BMS for cranking batteries is significantly different. The cranking or dual purpose LifePO4 batteries are still high in price.

    T-Motor mounting bracket

Looks nice. I have a similar custom made mount on the front of my flat boat that works well.

    Battery Boxes OR Trays?

That's interesting. I googled and found some on Amazon. Most seem to reference lithium ion batteries rather than lithium phosphate (LifePO4) batteries. I still believe there is much less risk with LifePO4 batteries. I'm sure there was a great deal of concern carrying a tank of gasoline when...

    closed cell foam floatation

I placed a couple of small strips of pink insulation board from home depot in a small jar with gasoline. It completely dissolved in a couple of days. I'd be cautious of using it for floation if in a location where fuel could spill. I'm not sure how this compares with other products used in...

    Battery Boxes OR Trays?

Understood. A battery case on a LifePO4 battery is a belt and suspenders and more suspenders approach because three cases would need to be breached for any leakage to occur - the cells, the battery enclosure, and the battery case. I use a battery case on my LifePO4 battery because I had it...

    Battery Boxes OR Trays?

There are some youtube videos that tear apart LifePO4 batteries. Inside the battery case is the BMS (Battery Management System, aka circuit board) and 6 self contained cells 2.X Volts each. Even if the cells could leak, it would leak into the battery case. I'm not sure how it would leak...

    Fishing License

No. I just moved states and you need to turn in your driver license from your previous state to get your new license. And you can't get a fishing license in the new state unless you have a drivers license in the new state.

Trolling motor rudder did good yesterday

Agreed. I ordered one. For that price it's worth a try. There aren't many things you can buy for a boat that costs $15 to $20.

Trolling motor rudder did good yesterday

Anyone is using one on a 16' boat with a 55# thrust? It appears they are recommended for smaller boats. It seems like it would be helpful on larger boats, but I wonder if there is a reason you don't see them on larger boats for reasons other than mounting problems.
