I just got around to reading this post. I have a similar Alumacraft in the FD model. They are very sturdy and reliable little boats. I don't claim any skills on the remodel but I am pleased with my set up. This works for me fairly well. Rides the wakes from the big boats well.

I keep my license and boat reg. in my wallet. Both are hard plastic. water will not hurt them. Also I have an app from TWRA that has my boat and license in the app on the phone. Keep phone in water proof container when boating.
