I have a 1991 Johnson 15 HP outboard. I changed the steering system from the old cable & pulley to a Telflex rotary system. I'm looking for the linkage arm that connects to the motor. I need to know if there is a specific size or does one size fit all? I found some on eBay, but have no idea...

The only thing I would add is a seperate fuse for your locator. Make sure you use the correct amp fuse recommended by manufacture.

I run my electronics on a 12 volt 8 amp battery that has it's own charger. They have them at Cabela's. They are on sale right now. 1 battery w/charger $30, 2 Batteries w/charger $50. They are small and don't take up much room. I have never had a problem.

I was surprized to see it, but a lot of guys are getting their boats shrink wrapped here in northern wisconsin. They get it done at the local marina. I would think you could get a roll of shrink wrap and a heat gun and do it yourself. Maybe somebody like McMaster-Carr would have the shrink wrap?

I just talked to a friend of mine that has been using these batteries on his boat and on his portable locator for ice fishing. He said he uses a regular battery charger with automatic shutoff. This makes me think a 2 bank charger would work. Will try to find more info.

I haven't had any charging problems myself, but I have heard the same reports. I'm going to be putting 2 of them in the console that I'm building for my tin boat. I don't know if a 2 bank charger will work, but I'm sure going to check it out.

My son has been running his electronics for about 5 years on Cabela's battery with no problems. I'm buying 2 to put in the console that I'm building. Will keep the wiring much cleaner.
