For anybody in the area, I have been having VERY GOOD success on the Delaware river this year, just north of the Smithfield Beach, PA boat launch. Catching nice sized smallies every week! Last Sunday my son and I went out for a half day and we caught over a dozen rock bass, over 1/2 dozen...

I have the 5HP B&G 4 Stroke on my 15ft Jon, it pushes me and my wife and son quite well. Great motor, never gives me problems. It is loud though, but I got mine new from someone who never used it for only $400. so it was worth it to me. A similar Mercury would have cost me 3-4 times that much.

We went out from the Smithfield beach area (a little north of the gap), if you know where that area is? I like that area because there is some nice deep pools where the fish will hold.

It put up one helluva fight...in fact my wife broke her reel...lol It was a cheap reel anyway, gave me an excuse to go out and get her a nice baitcast reel...lol.

Honestly, I just didn't think about it, having the battery covered in a case and having the compartment vented, I just didn't think it was an issue.

Did some Smallmouth fishing on Lake Erie (Buffalo) on my brother's boat. We caught a fair amount of decent sized smallies and a couple nice sized ones and a few big Sheepshead's.

What body of water was that in?

I moved the winch up so more of the boat would sit on the trailer mainly so that it would fit in my garage. So far i have no problem backing up, but I plan on installing vertical guides for better visibility.
