Is it necessary to have the bunks flush with the end of the boat or can the bunks stop 5-6 inches from the end? Reason I ask is because I just bought a brand new trailer and the bunks were not designed to go all the way to the end. Is this a design flaw? Should I replace bunks with longer ones...

So I had a spun hub 1 year ago and got it fixed for $39. Went out on the water yesterday and my hub spun 3-4 times. Not sure what is going on? Is it normal to have to fix a spun hub once a year, should I just get used to this? But I would like to know the root cause. I am not hitting...

Well if the tiny tachs have mixed reviews, I am certain the generic ones are even worse. Tiny Tachs come from a quality legitmate company. I think I will order one and post my results.

I think it is worth it. I have had it out for fishing and with the family on it. Night and day experience. I used pretty high quality materials on my build. Took me about a month and a half. Taking my time along and way and working around weather. Didn't go off a plan, just winged it along...

I can see how some people experienced that. However, I don't have to trailer my boat very far to the lake and the boat ride isn't too far to my fishing spots so I haven't experienced that. Also, the water isn't very rough either. They work for me but I can see that they are not super tight or...

Oh yea, if you get the good carpet, compensate for the thickness of the carpet on the edges when you cut your wood to size.

Couldn't you get it to run faster with a 2-stroke, drop off some of that 4-stroke weight too?

I got the carpet from Cabelas, called Cabela's Premium Carpet. Very happy with it, great quality.

Why are you thinking alum takes longer? it's wood that takes longer since you have to put the three coats of spar on ...a lot of extra time there.
