Anybody use a trailer dolly?

I've used a harbor freight one for about 10 years. I think I paid $60 for it. Both tires wont hold air at this point so I'll probably just replace it as opposed to replacing the tires. They are very useful.

Heater Install

Seems like it would be better mounted to the back of the front seat? Where does the kid sit? In the chair up front. Thought about mounting it there but didn't want his legs to get burnt. Having it mounted to the front of the middle seat, he can lean forward and warm his hands but the heater is stil...

Heater Install

While this isn't a huge modification, it is an upgrade that may give others ideas. My son (8) likes to go out with me but gets a little cold sometimes (he doesn't have built in insulation like me  ). So, I was at my folks place last week and snagged their unused Mr. Buddy propane heater. Again,...

Bimini Top Installation Video

That's a good video. I would say a bimini top is a very underrated boat accessory. I've had one on my boat for years and it makes hot summer and wet fall &spring days very comfortable.

12V Batts Combined in SERIES - Different Size/Capacity OK?

The motor won't care that the batteries are different capacities. As stated above, the motor will draw what it can and stop once there's not enough voltage. However, the charger is where you will run into potential issues...but there's a way around it. If charged together as one, 24v unit, the batte...

Downrigger setups - What’s yours?

I bought a pair of clamp on Scotty Lake Troller's with 4lbs balls years ago and have used them off and on. They are a good size for some of the larger lakes around here. Now that I'm getting more into Kokanee fishing, I'm appreciating the downriggers more. Eventually, I'd like to convert them to fit...

Most iconic brand?

Agree with all the Lund responses.

In the Pacific Northwest, Alaskan or Smokercraft are really nice boats as well.

What are you planning for your boat in 2015

Good thinking. I took my older boy once with my dad and the highlight of the trip was that Grandpa brought circus peanuts and small doughnuts. If they're comfortable, our lines are wet!!!

What are you planning for your boat in 2015

Not being a smarta$$ here but I am planning to get my boat in the water this year. My oldest son is now 4 and my younger boy will be 2 in April. I've had the boat out only a few times in the last 3 years so I am excited to start using it again.

Will it fit

Another trailer idea would be to buy a small 4'x8' utility trailer at harbor freight. you could use it to haul your boat and just slide it off at the launch. When you weren't using it for your boat, you could put sides on it and use it as a utilitly trailer.

1448 or 1542 purchase?

I'd go for the 14' as well. Even with the boat being 1' less than the other, you have more square feet in the floor of the 14'. And, as said above, unless you're fishing some VERY narrow waterways, 6" would make the boat a lot more stable. One thing to consider too is as the higher you go with platf...

Jon boat top or canopy?

I've got an 8' Bimini on my Lund WC16 and love it. I use it in rain or shine. You can see in the below pic how it sits in my boat folded down. It does not obstruct any of the 3 bench seats. When it is up, it slides back and covers the rear 8' of the boat. It's tall enough for me to stand under it. ...

How I figured flotation

No offense but your math is off by a whole dimension. When figuring volume as opposed to an area, its cubic inches, or feet....not square anything. Square is for an area. Also, your plywood, battery, and motor aren't neutral in water. Set your battery in water and see how it will act. My guess is th...
