2017 F-150 3.5L NA w/355 rear end-report
I also have the 3.5 liter NA engine in a 2016 ford xlt supercrew 3.73 gear, 5.5 bed. I like it a lot, plenty of power for my towing and hauling needs. Why pay for more than is needed? My daily driver, only vehicle I have. New engines in todays pickups last 300 - 400k easy with proper maintenance. Th...

Gas Tank Question
I would agree with the other posters. You already have a lot of weight up front, 2 batteries, console, you, plus other stuff. Leave the gas tank in the back, having a portable tank in a compartment is not a good idea. I would suggest that you put that rear battery in a $10 box too, keeps stuff from ...

standing water in the floor
Personally, I would leave it alone. The water will drain over the rib and leave maybe a pint in front of a few ribs. That will not cause any flotation problem or swamping of course. I know it is annoying but drilling holes in ribs that low right where it needs the most strength may cause bigger issu...

48SPL Stops Making MPH Before It Stops Making RPM
I doubt you will get 41 mph. I have the same motor, 48 spl johnson and 560 lb boat, so very similar to yours and my top speed is 31 mph.

How to Mount Kicker Motor
Brackets are made to bolt to the transom to support a kicker motor. Couple examples below. Upgrade passive livewell help
My livewell fills by removing drain plug from 2 inch tall, 3/4 inch diameter pipe (not sure if its the right term but lets call it a standpipe) that extends thru bottom of boat (see pic above). When you remove the pug the well fills with water to level equal to water level outside of boat. My quest...

Probably her singing is what kept the sharks away. Gotta remember that in case I ever fall over a railing into the deep blue sea.

Johnson 48 hp tune up
Good for you. I also have a 48hp spl johnson. I like it a lot, had a couple problems when I first bought it, spark plug gap at 60 thou, carbs needed cleaning but that is all at that time.
Yours looks way better than mine, I suspect mine may have been on fire at one point in its life.

temporarily repairing a hole in your boat.
This guy did a test on a bunch of duct tapes including flex seal. Seemed like flex seal did the best underwater.

I want to buy a compass
I have always preferred the type below, nice for hanging around your neck, accurate and reliable and rugged. Don't break the bank either. Duck Boat Accident
I don't know about the duck boats but many commercial vessels do not have foam flotation. I will say this, I have seen those duck boats in person up close and they are marginal boats and marginal vehicles, doing neither well. I was at the dell's when some friends went on one of them, I waited at a b...

Downsides to Livewell Drain on the Side?
That is the way mine is plumbed also. Only downside as you say is there is usually a couple inches of water in it.
