Need help with a small project

As you have found, weight is not your friend, especially in a 1648 JB. Any weight you add just decreases performance. Use what you have to get the weight forward. Relocate the battery, anchor and fuel tank (get a bigger one) to the front. If you feel like must have more weight on the nose, get a 5 g...

New sheriff in town!

Congrats Gill Hunter! Not that I was consulted, but I completely agree!
Watch your travel plans, I think a pair of roller skates will be faster and safer. Jerry :)

Brian Guy

Sorry to pass on the bad news of Brian's passing. I was shocked to learn about it on his Facebook page. Brian A. Guy, 41, of New Port Richey, passed away on June 22, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Andrea, son, Andrew, daughter, Brianne, mother, Joanne, father, Gerald, brother, Kevin, halfbrother,...

Naming your boat - what did you do?

Because my boat is so old and so long, I named it AlumaZilla. Had plenty of space to put on the sides of the boat.
My other choice was AlumaSarious Rex. It will go almost as shallow as a kayak with the motor up and the TM down.

Never too old to fall in love

I can see why BB....very few things left in this world with fins like that. Does it have leather seats?
Can't beat the smell of leather.

Nice decal Tony!

Don't worry about the Ban Bass Addict/Captain Ahab thing. That Love/Hate
relationship has been going on since the beginning of time and, I suspect they are twins
separated at birth by some well meaning person. Most likely their parents.

Happy Fathers Day to you all.

Congrats on the score, you are going to enjoy the di si feature. From your description of the mount, I'm having trouble visualizing the setup. The depth below the hull is good, but I'm unsure about the rest. Can you post a pic? I mounted mine on the transom on the port side about a ft off the center...

1st place Cobia, 1st place Mac & $25 gift card

The next tournament here is May 20th. I'll give Kevin (BigWave) a shout to see if something is going on in St. Pete a little sooner.

Thanks Tim but you give the Zilla way to much credit. We were fishing a 38' Donzi with 3-275 mercs and still got beat up.
The Zilla is good for flats only on a good day! Thanks for looking. Jerry :)

1st place Cobia, 1st place Mac & $25 gift card

1st place Cobia, 1st place Mac, & $25 gift card all in the same tournament! WOOOO HOOOO! Fished 30 mi off Hernando Beach last Friday and got our brains beat out by the 5s and 6s knocking us around. Found out later SCA warnings were up. I was drifting a live shrimp near the bottom and saw a shark cru...

I recently was fishing Ozello, FL and was loading up when a Guide came in with his client. I walked down to see how he'd done and he announced that they'd caught a couple of 20 pound Reds. Naturally they were over slot so photos were taken and the fish released. After viewing the photos, I asked wh...

CB radio

It's your boat, add whatever you'd like to it. That is the beauty of this site and the concept behind it. The good news is a decent handheld marine radio can be had for less than $100 . They are set up to scan emergency and hailing channels. The good news for all of us is we might be able to contac...
