Help with prep and paint

if you have straight aluminum, you get better results if you use a self ecthing primer... you can use rattle cans, or if you can find it - zinc chromate is the best (not sure if you can still find this stuff). For the paint - I've had best results with Petit Easy Poxy. I've used it on 3 boats and th...

Fisher 1860AW... New Boat -- New Construction

Where did you get the livewell and lids in your tin rig you built? I'm redoing a boat and can't find livewells anywhere. Thanks, Charlie I emailed you, but so everyone else knows... I got it from FishMate Pro... Pretty sure this guy has gone out of business. He was full of excuses as to why the liv...

I already have you on speed dial... and after I look at it, I may have a few more things we may want to do But like we talked about a while back when you were finishing up my boat, I'd like a pedal tha...

Fisher 1860AW... New Boat -- New Construction

Well... no more aluminum boats for me. Just sold this boat last night in order to purchase (I hope) a 2004 Ranger Comanche 519vx Ranger Cup Edition bass boat with a 200hp Merc... 177 hours on the motor ain't bad at all for that year. I'm going to look at it Sunday, do a compression test and if it lo...

Fisher 1860AW... New Boat -- New Construction

Been awhile since I've been around since getting a new job, but here's some updates... Love the boat and the work Dawson did on it! What I hate... The 9.9 Big Foot. Don't get me wrong, it's a great motor, just not on a behemoth boat of this size. Max speed is just over 7mph, not much faster than my ...

Building a LiveWell - Completed

that's the way it's set up... but you can turn one of the ball joints to pump water out, while at the same time having another bilge pump or livewell pump bringing water in

On Board Charger

Noco Genius chargers... look for them on Amazon. When they run a sale on them, get them! I've used these chargers for the last few years and I've had absolutely no problems out of them... I've tried all the others ones too, but none have compared to this for the price. For a 2-bank?? https://www.am...

First rod build

Thanks for the info... I'm definitely going to be looking into this.... of course I need another rod like I need another boat.. 36 rods, and 25 of them have reels on them. Those are counting the ones that I gave to my partner with reels already attached.

First rod build

Does it come with directions on how to do it and all the stuff you need to make it? I've been thinking about doing this for a while, but I just haven't pulled the plug on it. I talked to a guy who makes the rods just like you built (well, same blank) and he said it costs him around $160 once all is ...

Ipad interface with Lowrance HDS Gen 2 units

holy crap! This would eliminate the need for having multiple units on the boat... you could actually have the finder located in one area of the boat, then carry your ipod wherever you want and still control the unit from it. Now I'm actually glad I have Gen 1 units... otherwise I'd have to go out an...

Ipad interface with Lowrance HDS Gen 2 units

that's the first I've seen of those... you'd probably be able to stream Spotify or something like that through it too. That would definitely be awesome if you could download images/recordings from your graph to interface with something like google earth. I've got a satellite radio (separate from my ...
