Here is a few pictures of my 1978 Gregor 12' Deep V 2016 Suzuki DF15 powered conversion.

It was and still is a on going process. I was just winging it on the fly with my first build out. I used 2x4 for the framing an ply wood decking. This worked well and was easy to build, but left very little usable storage area. Plus the weight added. Fish out of it for a year before I decided to redo it. Went with a Aluminum Frame with 1/2' plywood decking. Which has allowed me to add storage compartments and live-well system to about every inch of space under both the front and rear decks...

But once again, I've found little things I want to change or do differently and will be removing the decks again to change or add to the frame. The decking was just a rough cut temporary decking as I have been waiting on some PVC vinyl flooring to come in, but it's been held up in Customs since Sept 1st. So now I'm thinking of going back with Aluminum decking with PVC vinyl floor over it..

I started this project to see if I could build a small boat for under a $1000, that was both safe to operate and easy to fish out of. I was able to accomplish that without a outboard. Total cost was about $950 on first build. That was for the boat, trailer, decking material, New Trolling motor, graph and misc hardware and parts. I could have keep it under $1500 if I would have bought a used outboard. But even with putting a New Suzuki DF15 and upgrading graph to a Hummingbird Helix 5 Gen2 I still have a little less then $4000 in it. And I have won about $1500 of that back in tournaments this year along.

Here is a link to a YouTube page with a few videos of me running the boat in smooth water and a couple in some very rough water and high winds. Also have one of the live-well system..https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCY_eK2VWw8re7nImJNnl7LQ?view_as=subscriber

Yes it's a EFI 4 stroke. And it runs 21.7 on the GPS with just me in it and a little chop on the water... Now that I finished fishing tournaments this year, It's time to replace the deck. The deck you see in most of the videos are the original deck I put on. Painted it with Patio Deck Restore/Sealer rubberized texture paint from Home Depot $29.00 a gal and 1 gal was more then enough. And it held up very well, wasn't slippery when it was wet, and it seal the deck and keep it from rotting.. Still haven't decided if I was to go back with 1/2 ply wood deck, or a all aluminum deck. I have the martial to do either .

I'm about to build a 5-1/2" set back, 4" adjustable Jack Plate for it. Hope to have it done in the next week or two. Hoping it will give me another 4-7 mph. The cavitation plate needs to be raised about 2" to be even with the bottom of boat when on plane. With raising the motor to eliminate some of the drag, plus the set back will let the prop work in clean water, getting the maximum performance out of both the prop and motor... At lest that's how I hope it works..lol
