So I talked my father in law into letting me get his 1986 16’ Bass Tracker he bought new in 86 back in the water. It’s been sitting for about 15 years. Pulled all of the weeds out of it this weekend and pressure washed all of the grime off. It’s in incredibly good shape. No leaks or holes. Of course the transom was rotten so I dug that all out. Looks like I’ll need to cut off the caps and bend back the lip to slide the new one in. Luckily we have a good welder and fabricator friend in the family. Made a cardboard template so I can get started on that this weekend. It had the original Mariner 9.9 on it. Was pretty locked up so just put it aside for now. Will probably look for an old 25hp to put on it. I have an old transom mount trolling motor that my dad used to run on his. Will probably upgrade to a bow mounted eventually, but just looking to get it on the water now here on the Susquehanna and take it up to my hunting property on some of the electric only lakes. This place is a great resource so if any one has any advice I’m all ears. I’ll update as I go!
