I had posted this on IBoats but decided to come over here as this group seemed more dedicated to this type of boating. Don't getme wrong, they are a good bunch over there and have good info.

About 3 years ago I bought a Lowe Superior V with trailer and trolling motor for about $800.
I knew it was going to need some work but that was a good thing as I wanted to have a project that would take my mind off work and just let me relax on the weekends.

Between the fires that chased us out of Fort McMurray Alberta, and work still having some weekend control, I finally got to work on it.

Seat supports cleaned and polished.
I used a product called Watkins Cream Cleanser. I don't believe they sell it anymore but you may be able to find a Watkins dealer online who may have some.

Transom rebuilt. Just have to get some sheet metel to be put on.
I was thinking of checker plate. Has any of you ever used it, and if so how does it work for ya?

I also polished up the brace for the stern but did not come out as good as I would have liked.

Great looking resto bud. I like that you are sticking with more of an original look. Have any more plans for the boat?

What paints did you use for this project?

Wow, that creme did the trick on the gunnel piece polish. The knee must have been cast and has a different surface finish, which woukd bear on the results, is my take.

Looks original!

Well I have found some more time to work on the boat. Other then making some seat cushions I think I am pretty much done.
Finished the transom today. I used a automotive rubberized undercoating spray paint on the motor plates on the transom. It seems to be tough enough to do the trick but proof will be in the testing I guess.

Nice work so far! I like the choice in color. Any updates on the project?
