My 9 year old son and I started this build for modest “flounder gigging” purposes. We gained much more. The father son time spent on this TB has been immeasurable. Today was our float test. Spoiler alert it did not sink. Thanks to all on this page who have passed along their wisdom. We are not finished yet and we will be sure to update as we progress.

Looks like some good quality time spent with the boy. My 3 yr old comes up to me about every day asking to help work on the boat, or to go fishing. It’s very gratifying knowing your children are interested in the same things you are. I just hope my little one is still interested at 9.

The floor looks pretty good, what type of plywood did you use ?. That,s one of those things I need to do with mine. Keeps the floor warmer when the water gets cooler. And not so much noise when you drop something.
