I row mostly. I like it. So I made up this rowing seat out of stuff in my barn. =D>
The wheels came from a Roller Rink. He had several barrels full of wheels with bad bearings.
I cadged a handfull from him and went off in search of other goodies.
Finally I took an old boat seat, added a couple aluminum angle's to that. Put axles through the Angles with the wheels that will hold the weight.
Then the lower whees, (are on old disc brake pads) go on and hold the seat from coming off or 'sticking' as it glides back and forth.

I soaked the dirty bearings in some Muffler stuff and the 'bad' came out after a couple days or so.
It works pretty well. It's not necessary for rowing. But you can really skip up the lake when you get almost two feet more to each stroke.
