Ok, while I have been in a slow progression with the boat, I have come accross a 40 HP Johnson w/elc start and the controls (minus the actual steering wheel). My boat is 1542. I have just replaced the transom and I have braced it with the original transom brace and a new one that I fabbed up. Anybody think that a 40 HP is too much?
