I need some help please. We just acquired a 1969 Merc 200 - 20hp and two gas tanks and we are needing some help identifying the correct fittings for the engine and gas tank ends of the fuel line.

Yep....walmart has the long skinny one that fits the motor, but the other (tank) end...good luck finding it. I had one of those motors (actually two of 'em), and never did find the correct fitting for the tank end, was forced to buy a different tank and adapt the hose and fitting to it.

The fitting on the tank looks like an OMC (Johnson - Evinrude type) as does the shape of the tank itself. The Mercury ones were more squared and boxy. You can get the OMC fittings at Walmart.

The motor side connection will be a mail order item or perhaps one of the better stocked sporting stores.

yes - the steel tanks are OMC. Johnson/Evinrude.
the matching OMC connectors are available at Wal-Mart,
Bass Pro, E-Bay, etc with the squeeze bulb primer .....
if you want to keep the OMC tanks, they must be in good condition
and you must modify the motor end of the hose and carburetor with the new OMC fittings.

more photos of the issue with the cowl removed in better light
would give the gallery a better understanding of your problem.
as well as removing your broken fitting to compare it to the photo above.

This is what your complete fuel line assembly should look like after you obtain the correct fittings.

Thanks for all the help. Picked up a pre-made fuel line for a pre-1998 Mercury and the OMC fitting. Gonna try em out.
