New guy here, I have a Tracker Pro Guide V 16. Has anyone installed a tilt/trim switch on the bow? There are two wires with female ends red with blue strips and black behind the panel not hooked to anything. Could these be used for tilt/trim switch with a hot 12v wire? Any input would be great.
Thanks!

Well, a switch is a switch and a wire is a wire...as long as both are rated high enough to handle the current. You are also adding ..Length...which may necessitate a larger wire than what is presently used for that function.

If you can find the amp-draw of the tilt trim motor, that would allow you to calculate the exact wire and switch size that you need.

Absent that, you could measure the size of the present wire that drives the tilt motor, and go at least one size larger to accommodate the extra length.

Perhaps someone with real data will pipe in to help. Sorry.

All you are doing is controlling the up/down relays. Current draw is minimal, 16 awg wire is more than enough.

My Tracker V17 had a tilt switch up front from the factory, and it used three wires.

A momentary SPDT switch will work, you will need a power source, and both legs of the switch will need to be tapped into the up/down wires of the tilt/trim circuit.
