New project boat, 14 ft Seacruiser (fiberglass). Entire plan is not complete yet, the more I look at this site the more the plan changes! Plenty of great projects on this site.

Will post pictures later.

Removed the boat from the trailer. Cleaned the trailer, touched up some paint and replaced all lights and wiring. Cleaned the boat and did a good inspection of the bottom. Plenty of scratches but appears to be no major flaws. Cleaned and polished the bottom of the boat and put it back on the trailer. Started cutting framing for the rear deck. Plan to add foam to the hollow areas of the framing. Also, added two small storage bins.

Removed live well cover from center bench. Cut larger opening in center bench and added two plastic storage bins. Will eventually use this as a live well, but for now it's storage. Cut framing. Will add foam to open areas in frame and also add plywood, carpeting and two access panels for the storage bins.

Took her out and put her in the water for the first time today to check for leaks and stability. She floats, no leaks. Not quite as stable as I would like when I was standing and moving around. Will have to rethink original plan for the front deck and seat.

Finished up filling holes with fiberglass and removing old foam and rotted plywood. Put the first coat of sealant on the wood frames for the rear and mid decks. Put first coat of gray paint on the inside of boat.

Put the second coat of sealant on the wooden supports and another coat of gray paint on the inside of the boat. Looking good so far.

Completed the framing on the aft and mid decks. Sealed the wood and cut out and sealed the plywood for the mid deck. Cut foam for mid and aft. Ran some of the conduit for electrical system. Plenty of work to go!

Looking good so far. You do really nice woodwork. BTW, I am about to start a new house and would you be interested in building my trusses? lol
Have you determined your decks? High or low? I was thinking lower with a pedestal and seat at almost standing level.(like a bar stool) Seems to me
that it would get you higher for fishing and lower for center of gravity and safety. Would that work? Keep up the
good work and looks like you are documenting your build very nicely. I wish I had spell check on this!

I still don't have it all figured out. My original plan was a deck from the front all the way to the mid bench and a seat somewhere on that deck. That won't work because it will be too unstable to walk on. I put the boat in the water once to check the stability. I moved around in the boat and found it's ok in the back but the front is not very stable. Since then, my plan has changed to fishing from the back. Still deciding whether to put a floor in it or leave the bottom the way it is. If I cover the floor with decking I will mount the seats low. Right now I'm trying to decide if I should cover the deck sides and top with carpet, or carpet on top and paint the sides. Any suggestions?

A little more progress. Foam and sides installed on the mid bench. Painted the sides, will carpet the top. Cut the deck for the aft. Will carpet after sealing.

Made some more progress. Worked on the template for the front deck. Started running wiring for lights and bilge pump. Worked on building console for switches and fish finder. I am going to mount it on the right side of the middle bench. Was planning to carpet the top of the front, mid and aft decks. Looking at it with the parts in place I'm thinking of maybe painting instead.

Didn't get much done over the last week, was out of town for work. Worked on it some today, completed most of the decking and attached carpet to the decking. Installed bilge pump and rear nav light and ran wiring for both. Also ran wiring for forward nav light. Battery boxes installed. Installed foam in available spaces.
