will you be bending it at any place along gunnel? Just curious if it will bend to the arc of bow area.
No it won't bend unless heated; or taken to a muffler shop, they bend all sorts of metal. I am going to mock mount track closer to stern and see how far I can go without bending.

This what the track looks like ..had to get a converter for heic to jpg in order to post photos.

Here are a couple of pics of the bow mounted T track. I bent it into place using C clamps and then drilled / tapped 8-32 flat head machine screws into the inside part of gunnel. I plan on adding track section on both sides of boat to near transom.

Tinman, Nice job fitting the track to the curve of the gunnel. That came out really well. Looks like it belongs there. Where the T-track ends up towards the bow, you can use a T-track end cap. If you want to leave it open so you can slide stuff on/off, it can be cut at an angle to prevent snags.

Oh wow I like that track, it's easier to work with too!

Have any of you tried using some aluminum "C" channel to sit on top of the gunnels? That would give you a flat surface to work with.

Well after the new floor , all new wiring with some upgrades added ie. antra lighting , new GARMIN , purchasing the new rod holders the boat budget went way over and was addressed to me by the Admiral. I agreed to end this phase and start fishing. So I used aluminum Rivnuts to mount the rod bases on the round tops and placed flat bases in different spots on the deck and so forth for different types of fishing. I’m using Fishbite 1/2” thread holders for my heavy catfish rods. There not mounted perfectly even but I figured a wave in the water will change the rod angles anyway. I be adding T bars at a later date but this will get me by for now .23669AB7-D2AF-41E0-9CD1-61BDE613DCD6.jpegEEC7BB87-BBFE-4C77-A6D8-222C1FD80747.jpegEF738152-A3CE-4771-B28E-D55DCCAA6757.jpeg

Rod holders, cleats, and bimini tops, are often mounted to the gunwale, providing convenient locations for securing equipment or lines.

Gunwales reinforce and offer storage. Saltwater boats use them for fishing rods with gunwale clamps. Leisure boats employ them for cup holders.
