Any interest in a water pickup system?

Post a video of the outboard running with the lower unit out of the water :)

Any interest in a water pickup system?

Thank you for sharing this future product and I can tell a lot of R&D went into it. I’m curious if it might not help just myself but outboard owners in general that have a hydraulic tilt. Many times when we beach in the river or even on any shoreline the engine is tilted up with prop out of the...

    Designing a bow plate?

Kept mine simple which is similar to yours. Sheet of aluminum and cut it then bolts through the caps. Nose definitely stiffer and nice to step on. Bow mount trolling motor which quick disconnect has no issues

    14’ Valco Makeover

Hope you have a blast with this! I have the 1976 U13 12’6” Valco. It’s small enough to car top since the Valcos are so light and can also handle pretty rough water! I’ve revamped mine 2x now and itching for a 3rd. Can’t wait to see what you come out with!

First post, anyone familiar with this brand Jon boat?

Alibaba has some cheap boats that look close. You have to buy a bunch of them however(reseller). Only difference is this is riveted... people still make these without welding? Game fisher logo looks homemade? Could walk in since your there and ask the salesman? Seems based on the build etc and...

    Limber Holes

I’d imagine you could drill a hole in the centers with a small tube or sleeve to add strength. Perhaps JB weld them in. I have a 12ft aluminum rated for 20hp and run a 15hp. Good luck!

HDPE Plastic 4x8 sheets for decking

The plastic is comparable for weight to marine grade. Easy to cut/rivet and has worked out amazing for my newest revamp. I’d recommend it and get tons of compliments. I cartop my boat on some trips and doesn’t feel any worse then when I had painted plywood. The Coast Guard boats use this stuff...

Looks like fun. Mini Jet boat kit

Small jets are very popular up here in the PNW as well. You can even buy them pre-welded buy companies who buys the kits out of Canada. Likely someone near you as well. But your talking 10kish delivered? Same as a new jet ski as someone mentioned the likeness. I would prefer the aluminum...

    1976 Valco 12'6" V

Sorry needed to post again. I have more photos to share! :) Rocket launcher in use and the old swim ladder.. out snorkling and cliff diving with the kids. Spot-lock on the bow mount motor sure is convenient. One of our favorite places to hang out and play. On the suburban for proof...

    1976 Valco 12'6" V

Greetings fellow TinHeads! :D Been watching the forums since I joined based on some recommendations from locals earlier this year. Many of you restorers are absolutely magical with some of the revamp/restorations! I've been hesitant to even post this here... but here we go! Since it's...

Paint vs. Vinyl for boat trim (and a floor Q)

Probably not the answer most would say but since no one has replied yet... cover it all in "hydro turf"! After cleaning of course. It's really cheap these days and whether your kneeling, standing, sitting or leaning against it... sure is nice! Far as the wood.. i assume its already...

    front deck framing

Ahh sorry I believe I misunderstood! I also put a small deck on mine just out of aluminum and bolted it straight to the gunwhales! Added a good amount of stability to my boat. Good luck on the project!
