    The Bassquatch 2.0 Project --> Ouachita 1542

    Thanks bobberboy! I had a blast building it. I find myself looking for a new project already :-k

    Yep I used the whole thing! It came out pretty even. Probably had a cup too much that I just spread over the thin spots.

    The Bassquatch 2.0 Project --> Ouachita 1542

    I know this is a no-no, but I compiled a list of expenses as I worked on the Bassquatch 2.0. Boat and trailer - $500 Motor - $650 Trolling Motor/fish finder - $65 Notary - $20 Tag/Title - $24 Trailer rims/tires - $120 SteelFlex - $80 Welding - $20 Home Depot - $185 (Paint, Acetone, rollers...

    The Bassquatch 2.0 Project --> Ouachita 1542

    Bassquatch 2.0 is finished for now. I may decide to put pedestal seats in later on. But right now it's time to go fishing.

    The Bassquatch 2.0 Project --> Ouachita 1542

    Got the SteelFlex applied. It turned out nice. Kind of looks cool with the two tone gloss almond paint on top and olive green Steelflex on bottom. I mixed 4 cups at a time. I poured equal parts into a semi see-through Folger's coffee container. I marked two cup intervals with a sharpie. You'll...

    The Bassquatch 2.0 Project --> Ouachita 1542

    Well I haven't been very good about keeping this thread up. I have been busy with finals and work. I did manage to make it out of my freshman year of college with a 4.0 :beer: I can see the light at the end of the tunnel with this build and it's bitter sweet. I'm just going to let the pictures...

    The Bassquatch 2.0 Project --> Ouachita 1542

    Looks like it's gonna be nice this weekend here in Oklahoma. I got a little bit done tonight... mostly staring and scratching my head though. I put in some rivets and got the cardboard deck outline cut out. Hopefully I'll get it all framed this weekend and ready to paint soon. Here are some...

    Trolling Motor Question

    I'm curious how long the wire is from the trolling motor to the foot control and if you can extend this wire easily. Trying to figure out where to mount the seat on my front deck.

    The Bassquatch 2.0 Project --> Ouachita 1542

    So me in my infinite wisdom didnt even think about having to join plywood because the deck is wider than 48". Any tips or builds out there that could help with this?

    Rivet Help

    This has been extremely helpful. I think I'm gonna go with the brazier rivets since these holes are right on the side of the hull where it's easily accessible for two hammers. Then I'm going to steel flex over the outside. Thank you for the pics and explanations!

    Steelflex Question

    Sounds like I'm gonna call and get them to add a pigment! Thanks guys!

    Steelflex Question

    Does anyone know what steelflex looks like with no color added. I didn't order pigment. I've read that it's cream colored and I've read its clear/cloudy. I plan on doing the bottom and sides of a 1542 flat bottom. Should I paint first then rough it up? Or is it a solid enough color that you...

    The Bassquatch 2.0 Project --> Ouachita 1542

    Got the boat tagged and titled. It is off at the welder getting patched up. I sent the check for steel flex. I got a gallon of regular neutral color. I secured a paint spray gun so I don't have to go buy $100 worth of spray paint. Monday I'll probably make the trip to Home Depot to get my...
