Good to know it is holding up. I've same boat and was thinking about using the panels for side panels. For UV protection, I would paint it with rattle can paint made for plastic. I was thinking about riveting it on but lowes has fasteners for it that look like they would work better.
My next tin build will be a 1964 square back aluminum canoe. I'll be able to load it myself and go to the smaller lakes. I am making it electric with a wood canoe paddle for back up. I'll post pictures once I get it going.

If it has clear titles, for $200 I would take it on as a build. Of course, you are going to figure out how to bring her home. I wouldn't tow on that trailer until the axel was rebuilt and the trailer adjusted for the boat. looking forward to pictures.
I have friends who did the 9.9 to 15 upgrade and kept the cowling with old horsepower. Of course a lot would depend on local and state enforcing said rules and Illinois is easy to get along with. Patrol stop at local lake and you could be busted. [-X
