Overnighting - Bring boat to shore, or anchor?

That shoreline in that picture won't hurt a 12ft.. don't stress about it

New 9.9 setup - is this enough?

It looks like you simply have too much weight. I'm guessing you have a 24V bow mount, which is overkill. I run a 55lb 12v motor and it's plenty for my 16ft decked out V-hull. So you could eliminate 1 battery that way by going down to a 12v motor. You can also verify that the motor is in the...

Rear boat seat on center or offset?

If you must have a seat, it goes on the starboard side, slightly off center as most motors are port side handle. I find that in my 14ft with a 9.9 I prefer no seat ( carpeted bench) as I can move around and compensate for my dog moving around. In my 16ft with a 30hp, it lists slightly, but...

    Part Wanted 1980S 30 35 HP CARB

I have a 1981 Evinrude 35hp. I'm not sure if the block is the same as a 20 or 25hp, but the clamp and the lower end is definitely larger.

Should I leave my 6hp mercury on the boat during winter months

It's a 6hp!! Take it off and store it after every use!!

    Won't go on plane

Change the fuel hose from tank to engine, or try a known good one. Has the boat been sitting in the lake and is now full of rain water? Has your gas can been sitting outside in the hot sun and/or rain?

Wood transom really necessary on jon boat

Oh FFS!! It's a 10ft boat and a 5hp motor! You don't need wood if it's not there from the factory and don't bother with rubber mats etc. Rubber gets slippery when wet, so chances are the motor has a better chance of coming loose. Just clamp the motor on and go enjoy it... don't overthink it

    12 Foot V-Hull Storage

Upside down.. just use whatever you have to block it up enough so it doesn't freeze to the ground. It won't blow away unless it's in the middle of a field during a hurricane. Don't over think it. Around here, there are hundreds of boats left at remote lakes all upside down with no issues.

Is This A Good Beginner Rebuild?

That will be a nice boat when it's done.. but it's going to be a big project. Your time-line and budget seem appropriate

Looking to purchase a new Truck....what have you purchased?

That seems like a decent deal if that's what you want. The 250 will be far better at hauling the camper or towing your trailer than a half ton. Current half tons have soft springs to make for a cushy ride, if you want to haul or tow substantial loads helper springs or air bags are a must. It's...

    Towing with outboard

I use a transom saver. It takes strain ( weight) off the transom and puts it to the trailer.. I have a 30 hp 2 stroke mercury and it doesn't move at all while towing. I see way too many boats being towed and the motor is bouncing and flipping side to side etc.. even worse if the motor is...

    2000 johnson 35

You didn't answer Pappys question about swapping coils back in May. Also, a quick way to troubleshoot a head gasket is try the compression test with the adjacent plugs in, and then again out. If the number changes you know compression is leaking over. The number might go up or down, but your...

    Upgrade 9.9 suzuki motor

Now you've learned something. I think suzuki is the only motor this can be done too though.

    Reshape and Balance Propeller?

If it's only 8 3/8 x6 it's not worth getting repaired. A new one will be less than $100, a decent repair would be at least $200

    All propped out

What do you mean " blows out" Like cavitation?
