Outfitting new boat with electronics for river fishing

Pretty sure these units can be connected to each other over wifi and share data. May save some additional wiring. The LED lights, some states reserve blue for law enforcement and they can not interfere/be confused with navigation lights, check your local requirements.

Outfitting new boat with electronics for river fishing

My Garmin Striker 4 doesn't come/use maps. Don't need them for an inexpensive 2D sonar. But my Garmin Echo Map has this statement on maps.

Outfitting new boat with electronics for river fishing

I would do some additional research, the cone size is not the only item to be concerned with. Research and see if it is compatible with side scan and down image. Pretty sure he transducer is only 2D (83khz & 200khz), then any modern FF will be an extremely overpriced addition. Attached garmin...

    Switch Panel Location

Same answer, if the wire between battery/power source and fuse panel is longer than 7" a fuse or circuit breaker is required. Wiring, contacts, terminals need to be rated for the max load. If the power wire is in a conduit or sheethed, and > 72" it requires the same as above. Can't speak for...

    Switch Panel Location

Master breaker ? Current potection should be used on wiring over 7" long. Cranking circuits are excempt. Wires that are sheethed or in conduits can be 72" long before protection is reqired. Protection should be as close to battery as possible. There are additional exceptions, but they...

Yes, that type of switch. Just want to mention, the switch may not be required, see the attachment. But if you do install it, it should be as close to battery as possible.

    trolling motor cable amps?

Just wanted to add ABYC E-11 excerpt for connectors. Assuming, by following the exact instructions in the manual, it would meet this requirement.

    Switch Panel Location

The battery switch shall be installed close to battery. Your battery storage as pictured fails numerous safety isses. Attache'd is some exceptional from ABYC E-11 and E-10.

    trolling motor cable amps?

The circuit breaker should be 5-10 amps greater than max current draw of the motor. Wiring, terminals, contacts, ect, should be rated higher than the circuit breaker. The CB should be the weakest link. My opinion: to prevent multiple CB reset when in weeds, Engineers determined that a larger...

New Minn Kota with Heading Sensor - Install ?s

Just wanted to update my previous answer, Motorguide pinpoint (gps) has a built in compass, so it gets its heading from the compass. So, if you see a boat going in circles, they may be doing a compass calibration.

Routing starter cables to reloacted battery advise please.

A number of lifepo4 batteries require a DC to DC charger for alternator charging to prevent overheating and damaging the alternator. Suzuki, states in the user manual to use a lead acid starter battery.

CMC power tilt and trim pt130

Not familar with your setup, but if you can use an ohm meter, find out which wire is ground to the tilt motor. The other 2 wires should be up and down.
