    Choosing a trolling motor battery

...so now I’m building a MonArk 1644 with a new Minn Kota 70lb 24v motor. I now have to find a reasonably priced pair of batteries to power this beast. ...ugh every time I turn around it’s another cost....she’ll be worth it though!

    Vertical rod holder holders.

Engel makes a cooler/drybox that has four vertical rod holers on it. I use one when catfishing with great success. It doesn’t hold ice for days like their blue water series but it does well for long day trips or over nighters.

    1989 Bass Tracker TX17

Make sure you knock a dent in the rivets with a center punch so your drill doesn’t walk. I highly recommend Aircraft Paint Stripper to remove any and all paint. That stuff removes everything!

    Building a 78 Monark 1648

I’ve been slowly rebuilding this boat after a complete teardown and inspection. ...before... ...torn down... ...transom before... ...new transom, getting there. I sandwiched two pieces of marine grade plywood... ...existing livewell. I’m not sure if I’ll use this or buy a new one and fab...

    Stability Question

Johnny is dead on bro. I have 1436 which is a tad skinny for decking....I chose to deck it low at first but went high soon after. The advice from everyone here has been spot on, much to my chagrin lol. Get used to instability in just about anything under 48" brother....it is fun to tinker...

The evolution of Kevin's Alumacraft 1436

I forgot to add...I have 45 degree supports under the recessed foot control along with fwd and aft 2x4s. Weight is my enemy now as I endeavor to add flotation and remove weight while keeping functionality.
