    Used Soft Plastics Poll

I repair almost all using a Wal Mart Automotive Pencil Soldering Iron, under 5 dollars and a piece of copper wire wrapped three times around the tip and sticking out 3/4 inch off the end. The wire is about the size of a pencil lead and when heated, does well in repairing tears and hook holes...

anybody here ever make your own lures

I tie bass jigs of various types, make walleye crawler harnesses and fish attractors. I'm always willing to share methods and designs when contacted. One of my jigs is made with dollar store materials and so far has caught 21 species of fish. It's a very rewarding hobby.

This is a page of information a fishing buddy and my wife helped me to develop over the years. We’ve caught a lot of bass using the following techniques and presentations. We fish with spinning outfits, usually 6 pound test mono. I buy a pack of zoom speedworms in watermelon/red and clip off...

    Alkaseltzer in lures?

I wasn't clear in my last post...you pinch the straw piece shut with side cutters and melt the plastic with a candle...do this on both ends, then heat the needle and put in the holes.

starting fresh on tackle, where would YOU start?

    Small Swimbaits-Whick One's the Best?

Swimming on the side could posssibly be not such a bad thing....in a pod of baitfish, one that acts differently could certainly be a trigger....wounded appearing if worked somewhat slowly with pauses and slow falls...might be a great way to approach bass beneath the baitfish...I'd surely give it...

    Alkaseltzer in lures?

you can fill sections of drinking straw with alka seltzer and seal the ends with a candle....then using a needle, melt some holes in the plastic....each end....will fizz more slowly for a longer period of time....

    How do you finesse fish?

These two presentations given here were jointly developed by my fishing buddy, Joe, my wife, Connie and myself. Each has gone through variations with time and each can be very effective under a goodly number of conditions. Zoomies. A Zoomie is a Zoom Speedworm in watermelon/red with its tail...

    Craft Mates

Hey Jim, thanks for posting. Got mine yesterday and it's just what I needed for all those dropshotting hooks, sinkers, clips, beads, etc.etc. I'll be using for dropshotting. The pink label scraped off with a paring knife blade...... Fits into the tackle box nicely. Thanks for the tip. Good...

Split Shot Rigging, a new twist....

Another advantage of using the clip, you can make up a few different lengths of line with splitshot to facilitate depth changing making it easy to change without retying the hook....just swap out the weight leader.

Split Shot Rigging, a new twist....

I wanted to try drop shotting and got to thinking when leafing through my Barlow's Catalog. They were selling the drop shot clips you could insert into your molds for lead weights. The clip was on one end, a swivel in the middle, and a round eye on the other end would be placed in the lead...

    Tackle Makers

I tie several types of jigs. One in particular, a small 1/16 ounce jig made with silver gift bag shredding from the dollar store has caught 21 species of fish so far. I also tie sparsely tied silicone and flashabou jigs used for largemouth, smallmouth and rainbow trout. I've also had great...

    Moving my transducer.....

I was browsing at Bass Pro in the boating section and found a bubble package of J-B STick Weld. It's a 1 x 4 inch round stick of a steel reinforced epoxy putty. You cut off what you need, and work the piece for one minute until it's a uniform color, then apply. Will even work on wet surfaces...
