    Boat Floor Question

Hard to beat plywood, strong and fairly light weight, don't go overboard and use 3/4 way too much, 1/2" is more than enough. You can get away with cheaper exterior plywood too if you seal it good as mentioned above. Get the edges real good, that is where it starts to split and separate if it...

    Folding Grab Bar

I pretty much always run my jon boat standing up. I can see into the water a lot better and it just feels right.

    In boat rod holders/storage?

I like these and have been using them for a while but the rubber deteriorates after a couple years and they start falling appart. I have been able to extend the life a little by making some metal straps using SS welding wire to hold them in place.

Brands Using Foam Blocks Rather than Sprayed Foam?

Not sure what advantage you are looking for, both will displace water and float, the only disadvantage I can see is the blocks are usually made from polystyrene and it will dissolve if it gets gas on it, but, it is less resistant to absorbing water, the two part stuff, even though people call it...

    Lumber type for Jon boat

For plywood you will want to use and exterior grade plywood, It should be stamped on the board. Some plywood is made for furniture and cabinet, it is pretty but, won't hold up to getting wet. Most exterior plywood is made from pine. If you can find the sign board, it is the best, Not sure what...

    seat base? steel or aluminum

If aluminum is available that's what i would use, if you are using it in salt water, i would try to find stainless steel, if aluminum is not available.

    Lumber type for Jon boat

Well, if you are a metal guy, why don't you use metal? Aluminum is the best alternative. Stay away from any wood that has been treated with a metal treatment like copper. Pressure treated wood is usually treated that way. There is another treatment for termites but, not rot. It might be okay...

    Hydrofoil

Both hydrofoils and tabs create drag, anything that contacts the water will create drag. There are a couple advantages of a foil over tabs, cost, ease of installation and maintenance. I have used both on several boats over the years. Hands down tabs are the way to go but, foils work too, most of...

    Hydrofoil

A hydrofoil is probably the best option to try first, with tabs you need to drill holes in the transom a hydrofoil is attached to the motor so no problem drilling holes in the anti-ventilation plate really. If that works, great, if not then there is the tab option.

    Hydrofoil

I would consider something like smart tabs.
