    Arkansas Traveler Rivets

I steamed the 3/4 strips and bent them a little at a time and kept clamping as I went along. I did one strip at a time. as I got one fitted, I drilled the holes and put some 3/16 bolts in to hold it in place. After about a few days I did the same again with the next strip. It took a while and...

    Arkansas Traveler Rivets

No I didn't have any way to groove the 3/4" oak. Besides the thickness of the metal is less than a 1/16" thick so that would not make much difference in the length of the rivets. I was not the one who took off all the wood and rivets but to my knowledge the original wood was not grooved either...

I have an AT and it is 13' plus Looks exactly like yours. I am in the process of replacing the wood gunnels I have white oak Very hard to find long enough here in Vermont. I could only get 3/4" instead of 1/2'. I am using it as 3/4 since buying enough to cut it down to 1/2" was very costly. I...

    Garboard drain plug

Thanks for all the information on the drain plug. I have the same setup on my Arkansas Traveler. However the threads are pretty bunged up. Also I thought NPT fittings are tapered thread so the farther you tighten them the tighter they get. My drain has the shield on the bottom so the pipe plug...

    63 Johnson 40 hp outboard

I have a 1963 Johnson 40 hp outboard motor. It is set up for controls. My question is is there any tiller set up from another Johnson or Evinrude motor that would fit this motor. I would like to change it over to a tiller for my Aluminum boat. Thank you
