What have you been up to lately?

You are all correct that health becomes a huge issue as you age. The wife and I are both retired, but are still working at 72 because we enjoy it. (she works from home) We have to start taking funds from our retirement accounts this coming year. So we have talked about fully retiring next year.

    Censorship

Guys, I've been on this forum for a long time. Below is what Jim, the original owner included in every post he made. Be Respectful! This site is rated PG, No Politics, No Porn, No Bashing allowed! I am an old conservative veteran. From that you might be able to figure out my take on the...

    Boating Etiquette

"Yacker time" is a real thing and has just about ruined my local landing for everyone else. I'm not sure why yackers act the way they do. I'm an old guy. I would like to blame it on youth, but I seen plenty of older yackers that are just as bad..

    The 1667 T has a 21" transom and the 1667 has a 16".

    Got out this morning.

The wife and I have been fishing together for a long time. She does pretty well. I don't mind the DNR. Never had a bad experience with one yet. This young fellow was really a good guy.

    Got out this morning.

Got out for a couple of hours this morning. Kept 20 nice Bluegills. A young DNR officer met us at the landing. He was very nice. He probably regretted checking us out because we about talked his leg off. This was the first time we had been checked by the DNR since we moved to Georgia in 2008.

    Plant Based Food

Same here. We also eat mostly chicken or seafood and some pork, with lots of vegetables. We, the wife and I, aren't health nuts, we just both started having issues with red meat. We were never fans of processed foods. We will have a small fillet every once in a while. There are some pretty good...

What have you done to your Tin Boat today?

LDUBS if you don't have side posts put a pair on. My current trailer doesn't had side bunks. I put posts on soon after I got this boat and trailer. Makes it much so easier just keeping track of the trailer when you are launching and retrieving much less making it easier loading the boat. I have...

    Traveling with boat in tow

I have stayed at motels many times while towing my boat. My bow mount trolling motor is bolted on, my transom trolling motor as well as my outboard are padlocked. My Hummingbird unit has a quick release and is removed. I don't leave any gear in the boat. My trailer is locked onto my truck. This...

Your first TinBoat. Post you pictures.

I ran a similar thread years ago. Lots of new members, thought I try it again. Mine was a 14' Crestliner with a 20hp. pull start Mercury 2 stroke. Had a 30 lb. Minn Kota trolling motor. Got it in 1995, kept it for 2 years and sold it to buy the second of a total of 5 boats I've owned. That guy...

    Fishing Magazines

Does any still subscribe to any fishing magazines? I have subscribed to In-Fisherman since the early 90s. I still enjoy it, but it is a shadow of it's former self.

    Aluminum Versus Stainlees Steel?

Speaking of hand impact wrenches. I have one. Try taking the gear lube drain and fill plugs out of a Honda for the first time without one. LOL

From what I've read there must not have been a lot of testing done.

    Yesterday's computer mess

Yesterday served as a reminder to me of how computer dependent we have become. I still work part-time and we were shut-down until late afternoon. A bit of a back story. I never really did anything with computers until the company were I was an engineer started using Auto-Cad. I was 34 years old...

    Driving a Tesla

I thought this was an interesting article by Kelly Blue Book. The wave of electric vehicles (EVs) coming into the market brings a new consideration to the consumer buying experience. Price is always a significant factor in choosing a new vehicle, as is...
